Madison, Wisconsin is my hometown. Later I grew up on Lake Minnetonka, just west of Minneapolis. After high school, I attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. My studies focused on Landscape Architecture, and I received a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture in 1973.
While in school, I spent a summer internship with the Peridian Group, a landscape architecture and planning firm with offices in Pasadena and Corona del Mar. The west has been beckoning me ever since! After graduation from college, I found myself locating near my parents' new home in Denver, Colorado. After having gained experience with three landscape architecture firms in Denver, I founded Lifescape Associates in 1976.
Lifescape was a pioneer in the design/build industry in Colorado, and I continue to serve as a consultant and designer on their staff. To this day, we set the bar in creativity for outdoor spaces. In 2007, I took on a partner, and began a gradual buyout over the next six years.
In 2011, during a Wine Country visit with friends, I was introduced to Kate Hill, a longtime Santa Rosa resident. We fell in love, and the rest is history! We married on April 27, 2012. After forty years in Colorado I pulled up my roots, sold my home, and moved to Sonoma County!
I acquired my California Landscape Contractor's license. I found new clients here in the North Bay area. My references from Colorado and California are available for your review.
I chose the name Landzen because it represents my values of balance, calm beauty, and respect for nature. Please enjoy Landzen's website, and join in on the exciting future of my life in Sonoma County. I hope to provide you with the opportunity for quality design and supervision with the result of unbeatable value.
